I have always consider myself a collector of words. I have a special file where I keep all my favorite quotes. Every where I go I look for quotes, little sayings or words of advise that inspire me.
My latest little painting was inspired by an altered quote, "If the shoe fits, then wear it", well I liked the idea that
"if the wings fit, wear them".
"if the wings fit, wear them".
Sweet sayings or quotes have been the starting point of many of my paintings. I hear a quote and it inspires a vision in my head, that I just have to bring to life with paint.
I've found many quotes or saying in the strangest places, like a fortune cookie, I really liked this one!
One of the first paintings I ever did was based of a quote by Elenore Roosevelt.
"The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."
I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.
Eleanor Roosevelt
(I haven't been able to put that one on a canvas)
I just finished another painting, again with a small, but moving phrase.
"just breath"
I used old watch faces for my bubbles, it just felt right to me.
Thanks again,

How exciting - well, my favorite quote is
'always keep a little secret in your heart'.
I also love making art with quotes. When I used to make little wooden cut out art and sell it a few years ago - it only sold if I put a quote on it. I love your painting that you sent away - sooo cute - hope you get her back.

Hi Debbie... Thank you for stopping by my Blog and leaving such kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed my Journey there, it is a Joy I look forward to daily. It's great to connect to other Artists & Kindred Spirits here in this delightful Blog Community, so inspiring and uplifting. Your Paintings are so Joyful... and I too collect Quotes, and also the Messages in Fortune Cookies that I liked... sometimes they are eerily spot on! Or maybe I just spend far too much time in Chinese Restaurants enjoying the delish Food so the odds are greater that the 1,000th Fortune Cookie will have a profound Message for me!?! *Winks* Yes, a Gypsy Vardo Playground in one's backyard would be a Dream come True wouldn't it!? The Man is from Utah so we have quite a lot of Family there, I Love that they preserve so many Beautiful Old Homes in that State... sadly Arizona does not. I'm glad you discovered my Blog so that I could discover your Lovely Blog this Morning... and just in time for a Giveaway, hey, it doesn't get any better than that!
Blessings from the Arizona Desert... Dawn... The Bohemian
Hi Debbie,
What lovely paintings you have done and enjoyed reading the quotes you shared. I too have a journal with quotes written so I can look at them.
A favourite of mine is ~
Savour the moments that make you the happiest.
These are the very best days.
Happy weekend
Hugs
Carolyn
Hello there Debbie,
I am a follower. My quote is, "It's not what happens to you, it's how you happen to it." I made that one up many years ago. BTW I love your painting with the little girl and frog. Sooo cute. I have one posted on my blog called
Delight.
Keep painting, I just love what you do.
Hugs,
Diana
